As some of you might know, during the day I work as the digital strategist(that means social networking, graphic design, online marketing etc etc.) for the non-profit Break the Cycle, which deals mainly with the issue of teen dating violence/relationship abuse and creating healthy relationships.

Yesterday, my co-worker informed me of a poetry contest through which we could possibly win a $10k grant. DA immediately came to mind as e best place to go for quality poems!

Here are the Details:

Each non-profit submits a 4-8 line poem that "expresses the heart of their service mission"

one lucky non-profit gets a $10k grant AND the selected poem will "become the basis of a song, written and produced by Los Lonely Boys and presented, along with a video of the performance of the song, for non-commercial, community education and awareness."- have your poem turned into a song AND help a good cause at the same time? that is pretty sweet!

How it will work:

You comment on this journal with a link to your poem and give us permission to use it(if you are interested of course!)

We select the one poem that we feel best reflects our mission and submit that poem with our grant application.

If selected, we will feature your poem on [link] and [link].

All entries will find a place in my collection and on the new but hopefully growing DA site for breakthecycle ( [link]) .
